Art for Ukraine in aid of BEARR’s Emergency Appeal
UK artist Ray Postill is selling his life’s work to raise money for BEARR’s Emergency Ukraine Appeal.

Over the course of the last twenty years, self-taught amateur artist Ray Postill has painted over 250 pictures which are lovingly stored at his home in St Albans. A civil engineer by trade, Ray began painting in his mid-50s for leisure, trying out an array of styles from art-deco to cartoons and landscapes. He cites Van Gogh, Rousseau, Lowry, Peter Heard and the Yugoslavian Naive artists as just a few of his inspirations.
On his decision to finally sell his collection of art, Ray writes:
“I have never marketed my work and the small number of paintings that have left my collection have been gifted to friends and family. As a result, I still have in my possession over 270 original artworks. Having reached the ripe old age of 77, I have been thinking that it would be a great idea to use this body of work to raise money for a very worthwhile charity.
With the un-provoked Russian attack on Ukraine I can think of no better way to support the victims of this foul enterprise and every penny raised will go directly to the BEARR Trust.”

All proceeds from the sale will be donated to our Emergency Appeal and sent to local organisations in Ukraine and Moldova, who continue to providing urgent humanitarian aid four months into the war.
