BEARR Trust summer lecture 2021

“The Londongrad Laundromat and its consequences”, with journalist and ‘Moneyland’ author, Oliver Bullough

We are delighted that award-winning journalist and author of Sunday Times Bestseller ‘Moneyland’, Oliver Bullough, gave this year’s Summer Lecture, “The Londongrad Laundromat and its consequences” on Wednesday 12 May via Zoom. Financial Times contributing editor John Lloyd chaired the event.

It was a fascinating talk followed by an interesting Q&A. In case you missed it, the recording is now available here. We will also shortly be adding a report of the talk to this page.

Donations

BEARR’s lectures are the organisation’s main fundraising events. We therefore asked guests for a suggested donation of £10 per person, or £5 for full-time students and unwaged persons. We are most grateful to all those who felt able to make a donation. This money will go towards BEARR’s 2021 Small Grants Scheme, funding civil society organisations supporting vulnerable groups living in social isolation in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Please note, it is not possible to make a donation with Gift Aid on Eventbrite. If you are a UK taxpayer and eligible for Gift Aid, please consider registering for the lecture by purchasing a free ticket on Eventbrite, then making your donation separately via our Virgin Money Giving page.
