Investiture of Megan Bick and Daryl-Ann Hardman
Two people who have played a formative role in the history of The BEARR Trust were awarded an MBE in the King’s first Birthday Honours List: Megan Bick (left) is a current trustee and former director of The BEARR Trust. Daryl-Ann Hardman (right) is a former director and trustee. Both have been involved in a wide range of work in health and social welfare in the region over the last 30 years, with Daryl-Ann playing a notable role in Belarus (see article here). Our warmest congratulations go to both our much-valued colleagues.
Megan says: “I’m thrilled the work of the BEARR Trust has been acknowledged and the honour should be shared between all those past and present who have contributed to the strengthening of the voluntary sector in Eastern Europe, so crucial at times of adversity.”
Daryl-Ann says: “It is heartening that the huge amount of work done over 25 years and the input of so many UK professionals has not been overlooked. People gave their time to train Belarusians and help develop high quality services for children with severe disabilities in Belarus. My role was merely as the bridge that enabled this. My hope is that in the future, those precious contacts and working relationships will be resurrected and fruitful exchange can start again.”
