Dear friends and colleagues,
We hope this finds you safe and well. In this summer edition of our newsletter, we bring you the latest updates from our Emergency Appeal for Ukraine and Moldova, as well as the final outcome of our 2023 Small Grants Scheme.
We are delighted to share with you that Professor Robert van Voren will give our Autumn Lecture online via Zoom on 13 September 2023, and we will be hosting our Annual Conference in hybrid format on 17 November 2023.
We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that BEARR is recruiting additional trustees, including one who is expected to become co-chairman in June 2024. More information can be found below and on our website here.
In this newsletter you will also find article from the Halo Trust – a de-mining charity working in Ukraine – a podcast and interview with our Chairman Nicola Ramsden, and a study with recommendations on gender equality and women’s empowerment in the post-Soviet space. Finally, we have a project report from one of our partners in Kyrgyzstan, Oasis, and the usual news from the region.
We hope you enjoy reading it.
With warm wishes,
The BEARR Trust
