Forty-four per cent of Russians say it is important for their employer to be involved in charity work.
In addition, fifty per cent said that, given the same working conditions and salary, they would rather choose a company that takes part in charitable work. These were the findings of a survey conducted by the financial marketplace Vyberu.ru, in which 3,215 Russians took part.
A firm’s charitable activities were particularly important for professionals between 20 and 35 years of age. Among those company initiatives that found favour among employees were projects that helped animals and shelters (27%), children (18%) and people experiencing difficult life situations (17%).
32% of respondents believe that corporate charitable initiatives are aimed at protecting a company’s reputation. A further 26% link their employer’s philanthropy to the demands of modern-day business, while 16% see it as a way of enhancing staff loyalty. Only 12% cited a genuine desire to help people as the main reason.
